Twenty-four years of experience with implementing, ensuring compliance and managing funds for various federal, state and conventional housing programs including HOME, CDBG, Housing Tax Credits and State Housing Trust Fund for both the state of Oklahoma and Texas. Served as Director of Program Services, HOME Program Manager and Team Lead for compliance at the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and with the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency. Experience with Fair Housing, Loan/Grant/Contract administration and compliance, HUD CPD Program regulations, and Housing Tax Credits. Also holds various certifications for HOME and Housing Tax Credits. Monitored for compliance with Fair Housing Act, ADA requirements and Section 504 for various federal and state programs. Fluent in Spanish in both written and oral forms.

 

Lora Myrick's experience with state and federal program rules allows her to put together a concise and complete application package ensuring compliance with all required rules and regulations, while allowing for creative approaches to increase the likelihood of receiving funding. She will be responsible for developing internal application preparation processes, virtual file trees and tracking systems for staff and clients to access 24/7 and preparing presentations to city councils, commissioners' courts, state staff and other appropriate audiences about our clients, proposed developments and the housing resources being utilized and how they will work for the betterment of the community.

 

Her experience in compliance will be also be utilized as a separate service offered by BETCO. Clients who need assistance with program compliance requirements can procure our services to assist in tenant eligibility file reviews, file audits (20% minimum to 100%), file repair, compliance training and other compliance services. An additional service may include Asset Management. This service may be customized to our clients' needs and may include all or portions of the following activities: physical inspections of property and individual units, review of financials to determine the financial health of the property, review of current policies and procedures in place and interviews with management staff. At the conclusion of the assessment, recommendations will be made to achieve and maintain maximum results during the long term compliance term. She is a resident of Central Texas and she resides with her husband and two children.

The firm consists of two Multifamily Housing and four Community Development experts with a combined 112 years of experience working with local, state and federal resources to administer, implement and monitor various housing and community development programs.

 

HOUSING LAB is a full service housing development consulting firm. The firm specializes in the securing of funds for the development of affordable housing via programs such as Housing Tax Credits (9% and 4%), HOME, Federal Home Loan Bank and other public funds. Our firm has also developed a sophisticated geospatial tool to analyze numerous areas for optimal site selection to meet the needs of our clients.

 

We have the tools and experience necessary to provide guidance in maneuvering through intricate financial and programmatic structures with one or more funding sources to assist our clients with the development of quality affordable housing.
