Kendra considers herself a “houser” – striving to ensure that everyone has access to safe, decent, affordable housing. Prior to working with the amazing team at Betco Housing Lab, she was the Policy/Regulatory Manager at Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers, maintaining a pulse on policy and regulatory changes affecting the affordable housing industry. She provided policy research to help industry professionals in their decision-making and helped grow the educational programming delivered to the membership. Her overall career experience includes work in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, which has honed her policy/regulatory expertise and research skills in the area of housing and community development. Her most recent work includes consulting with Housing Authority of the City of Austin by finding solutions to Austin residents’ mobility challenges and supporting family self-sufficiency initiatives. She seeks to apply her experience in technical design and project management to address residential affordability concerns in her local community.
Kendra holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Texas’ Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Texas native and enjoys bowling, museums, traveling, and spending time with her two dogs.
